CONFRONT!

When Kirti realized that Nayra wasn't going to say anything, she sighed softly and stood up.

"Tu aaram kar, main aati hoon."

(You rest for a while, I'll be back.)

With one last glance at her sister, Kirti left the room.Nayra lay quietly on the bed. Her burned hand rested carefully on the other side of the mattress while her thoughts wandered once again.A few minutes later, the bedroom door opened.

Vivan walked inside.

His expression was unreadableโ€”cold, distant, perhaps even hurt.Without looking at Nayra, he walked straight toward the dressing table and began unbuttoning the cuffs of his shirt. After a moment, he removed the shirt completely and tossed it onto a nearby chair.Nayra's eyes unconsciously drifted toward him.

For a second, she simply stared.

Then, as if caught committing a crime, she quickly looked away the moment Vivan glanced in her direction.Pretending nothing had happened, she got off the bed and walked toward the washroom.Inside, she reached for the face wash resting near the sink. But before she could grab it properly, her foot slipped on the wet floor.

"Ahh!"

A cry escaped her lips as she fell awkwardly, twisting her ankle in the process.Outside, Vivan immediately straightened.

"Nayra!"

He reached the washroom door within seconds and knocked sharply.

"Nayra, are you okay? Kya hua?"

(Nayra, are you okay? What happened?)

When no reply came, his patience disappeared. He pushed the door open. The sight inside made him close his eyes in frustration.Nayra was sitting on the floor, clutching her ankle while trying not to cry.Without wasting another second, Vivan walked inside, bent down, and lifted her effortlessly into his arms.Nayra instinctively held onto his shoulder.

A minute later, he placed her gently on the bed.

"Kya karti ho har waqt? Khud ko chot pahuchana hobby hai kya?"

(What do you do all day? Is hurting yourself your favorite hobby?)

He muttered while carefully checking her swollen ankle.Nayra's eyes immediately filled with tears.

"Vo actually..."

(Actually...)

But Vivan cut her off.

"Kya 'actually'?"

(What 'actually'?)

He gently held her foot and began examining the injury.

"Ab kya main bathroom mein bhi tumhare saath chalun? Jis tarah tum har dusre din girti ho, tumhe akela chhodna hi mushkil hai."

(Should I start accompanying you to the bathroom too? The way you keep falling every other day, it's becoming impossible to leave you alone.)

His words sounded annoyed.

But the concern in his eyes betrayed him completely.

Nayra opened her mouth to reply.

Before she could say a single word, Vivan raised a hand.

"Shhh..."

His voice softened noticeably.

"Itna bologi toh hoth dard karne lagenge. Thodi der chup raho."

(If you keep talking this much, your lips will start hurting. Stay quiet for a while.)

For a moment, silence settled between them.Vivan continued massaging her ankle carefully while Nayra simply watched him.And despite all the distance between them, despite all the misunderstandings and unspoken pain, that familiar warmth still remained.Neither of them was ready to admit it. But it was there.

โ€”-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Night had already settled over the Raichand Mansion. After dinner, the couple quietly returned to their room.

Vivan casually removed his shirt, leaving himself in nothing more than a loose pair of lounge pants before walking toward the balcony for a moment.

Meanwhile, Nayra stepped into the washroom and changed into an oversized black T-shirt that belonged to Vivan.

It wasn't because she lacked her own clothes. She simply loved wearing his shirts and T-shirts.And though Vivan never admitted it aloud, he had always liked seeing her dressed in his clothes.

When Nayra walked back into the room and stopped in front of the dressing table, she began drying her hair absentmindedly.

Just then...

Vivan started walking toward her.Nayra frowned slightly. Before she could understand what he was doing, he was already standing in front of her.She instinctively took a step back.

Then another.Until her back gently touched the wall. There was nowhere left to go.Vivan slowly placed one hand against the wall beside her, making sure she didn't hit it, while the other rested on the opposite side, trapping her without actually touching her.

For a long moment...

Neither of them spoke.

His eyes searched hers, as if trying to find answers hidden somewhere deep inside them.Questions he had buried for months.Questions that had slowly destroyed him from within. He took a slow, shaky breath. Then finally asked,

"Nayra... did you ever love me?"

The question caught her completely off guard.

Her breath hitched.

She stared at him for a few seconds before speaking softly,

"What would you think?"

(Aapko kya lagta hai?)

A bitter smile appeared on Vivan's lips.

He looked away for a brief second before meeting her eyes again.

His jaw tightened.

"I think..." he paused, forcing the words out despite how much they hurt, "...you never did."

(Mujhe lagta hai... tumne mujhse kabhi pyaar hi nahi kiya.)

Nayra's eyes widened in disbelief.

She looked at him as though she couldn't understand how he could ever think that.

But before she could answer, Vivan spoke again, his voice calm yet carrying months of buried pain.

"If you had loved me..." he whispered, "...you wouldn't have left me alone to die every single day."

(Agar tum mujhse pyaar karti... toh mujhe har roz thoda-thoda marne ke liye akela nahi chhodti.)

The room fell into complete silence.

Only the sound of their uneven breaths remained. One heart was searching for answers. The other was breaking because it had them... but couldn't tell the truth.

A bitter smile appeared on Nayra's lips.

Her eyes glistened with unshed tears as she looked straight into Vivan's eyes.

"Aapko lagta hai ki hum aapke bina khush the?"

(Do you really think I was happy without you?)

She smiled sadly.

"Vivan... mar to hum bhi rahe the aapke bina."

(Vivan... I was dying without you too.)

Slowly, she lifted both her hands and cupped his face Her thumbs gently brushed against his cheeks.

"Inn kuch mahino mein hum jeena hi bhool gaye the. Aapke bina sab kuch bekaar lagta tha. Har waqt bas aap hi yaad aate the. Pata hai... aapke liye har pal royi hoon main, Vivan. Itna hi nahi..."

(During these past few months, I forgot how to live. Everything felt meaningless without you. Every moment, all I could think about was you. Do you know... I cried for you every single day, Vivan. And not just that...)

Her words suddenly stopped.

As if she had almost revealed something she never intended to.She quickly lowered her hands and tried to move away.

But Vivan didn't let her His fingers gently yet firmly wrap around her wrist before he pulled her back into his embrace.

There was barely an inch of distance left between them. His eyes had softened completely now.For the first time in days, he looked at her like his Cuhiya again. Not like someone who had broken his heart.

Not like someone he was angry with.

Just... his Cuhiya.

"Kya itna hi nahi? Batao na hume, Cuhiya."

(What do you mean by 'not just that'? Tell me, Cuhiya.)

His voice was almost a whisper. He gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

"Tum mujhse kuch chhupa rahi ho na?"

(You're hiding something from me, aren't you?)

His eyes searched hers desperately.

"Please... sach bata do na, Nayra. Mujhe pata hai tum mujhse kuch bahut bada chhupa rahi ho."

(Please... tell me the truth, Nayra. I know you're hiding something very important from me.)

For a moment, Nayra simply stared at him.

Then she slowly tried to free herself from his hold.

"Jaane dijiye, Vivan."

(Please let me go, Vivan.)

She lowered her eyes.

"Kuch raaz... raaz hi rehna behtar hote hain."

(Some secrets are better left as secrets.)

The words echoed through the silent room.

Vivan's grip loosened slightly. Not because he wanted to let her go but because, for the first time, he realized...Whatever Nayra was hidingโ€”It wasn't just hurting him.

It was destroying her too.

Nayra took a step away, determined to end the conversation.

But Vivan's voice stopped her in her tracks.

She froze.

Without turning around, Vivan spoke quietly, his back still facing her.

"Agar kabhi mann kare na... toh bata dena."

(If you ever feel like telling me... then tell me.)

He paused for a moment before continuing,

"Main intezaar karunga."

(I'll wait.)

His voice was calm, carrying neither anger nor accusation.

Only patience.

Only love.

"Aur jo bhi tum bologi... main sab maan lunga."

(And whatever you tell me... I'll believe every word.)

He closed his eyes for a brief second before asking the one question that had haunted him for months.

"Bas ek baar bata dena... kaun tha woh?"

(Just tell me one thing... who was he?)

Those words pierced straight through Nayra's heart.

She understood what he meant.

He still believed there had been another man.

That someone else had taken her away from him.

Tears gathered in her eyes.

She wanted to scream.

To tell him that there had never been anyone else.

That even in the darkest days of her life, her heart had belonged only to him.

But the truth refused to leave her lips.

Before she could gather the courage to say anything...

Vivan quietly walked to the bed.

He lay down on his side, turning his back toward her once again.

The room fell silent.

Nayra remained standing where she was, staring at his back through tear-filled eyes.

For the first time, she realized...

Sometimes, the hardest words to say were the simplest ones.

"There was never anyone else.โ€

On the other side of the mansion, Meera was sitting comfortably in the corner of her bed, completely engrossed in the cartoon playing on the television. A genuine smile rested on her lipsโ€”one that rarely appeared these days. Every colorful scene made her eyes sparkle with innocent happiness.

Just then, the bedroom door creaked open.

Aarav stepped inside.

He had returned home a little later than usual, but the sight in front of him made him stop right at the entrance.

Meera hadn't noticed him yet.

She was far too busy living in her own little world.

Aarav didn't interrupt her.

Instead, he simply stood there, quietly admiring her. A small smile unknowingly curved on his lips as he watched her laugh silently at the cartoon.

Moments later, Meera's eyes drifted toward the door. The instant she saw him, her face lit up.Without wasting another second, she stood up and hurried toward him.Months ago, she would've hesitated. She would've lowered her gaze and kept her distance.

But not anymore.

In these past few months, she had finally grown comfortable around Aarav... and around his family.

Without a second thought, she gently grabbed his hand and pulled him inside the room.Aarav chuckled softly, allowing her to drag him toward the bed.The two of them sat side by side, their shoulders almost touching, quietly watching the cartoon together.

Neither of them spoke.

They didn't need to.

The silence between them had slowly become comfortable.

What Meera never realized was that, somewhere along the way, Aarav had secretly learned sign language just for her.

Night after night, he watched countless YouTube videos, memorizing every sign, every gesture, and every expression so that one day she would never feel limited while talking to him.He wanted her to know...That even if she couldn't speak with words...He would always learn the language of her heart.

Everything had slowly started falling back into place. The atmosphere inside the Raichand Mansion felt peaceful once again. That morning, Nayra stepped downstairs and instinctively walked toward the kitchen. Ever since Dadi had scolded her the previous day for not asking about the family's breakfast, she had made up her mind to prepare tea herself every morning.

Just as she was about to enter the kitchen, Dadi's voice stopped her.

"Ruko, ladki. Kahan jaa rahi ho?"

(Stop there, girl. Where are you going?)

Nayra immediately halted. She turned around hesitantly.

"Vo... chai banane."

(I was going to make tea.)

Before she could take another step, Dadi shook her head.

"Nahi. Tumhare haath mein chot lagi hai. Yahin aakar baitho."

(No. Your hand is injured. Come and sit here instead.)

Nayra looked at her in surprise.A small smile unknowingly appeared on her lips.

Quietly, she walked back and sat beside Dadi, folding her hands obediently like a little child. One by one, the remaining family members came downstairs.Soon, everyone had gathered around the large breakfast table The servants began serving breakfast while soft conversations filled the dining hall.Among them, Kirti quietly noticed Veer.He was sitting beside her, but his entire attention remained fixed on his phone.

Messages kept popping up continuously on the screen. His fingers moved rapidly as he typed replies.Kirti couldn't help but glance at him again.Who was he talking to this early in the morning? Before she could think further, Veer's mother interrupted him.

"Veer, pehle khana toh khatam kar lo, beta."

(Veer, at least finish your breakfast first, son.)

Veer nodded without arguing.

"Ji, Mom."

(Yes, Mom.)

He placed his phone face down on the table and finally started eating. But Kirti's thoughts refused to settle. Her eyes repeatedly drifted toward the phone lying beside his plate.

Who was texting him?

Why had he been smiling at his phone?

Question after question flooded her mind.

Yet none of them had an answer. After a few minutes, Dadi looked around the table.

"Vivan kahan hai, Nayra?"

(Where is Vivan, Nayra?)

Nayra looked up before answering softly,

"Vo... Dadi, unhe kuch kaam tha, isliye woh jaldi chale gaye."

(Dadi... he had some work, so he left early.)

Dadi simply nodded and continued eating.

โ€”-----------------------------------------------------------------------

By evening, the mansion had become lively once again.

The elder ladies sat together in the garden, enjoying the pleasant weather over cups of tea.Meanwhile, the younger girls had occupied the lawn with a giant Ludo board.Nayra, Meera, Kirti, Aarohi Ishani, and Kiaara sat in acircle, completely invested in the game.It had become their favorite evening ritual. After several rounds of arguments and laughter...

Kiaara finally won.

She jumped to her feet excitedly.

"Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Her loud scream echoed throughout the entire garden.

The rest of the girls instantly covered their ears.Kirti glared at her dramatically.

"Oh God, Kiaara! Itna zor se kaun chillata hai?"

(Oh God, Kiaara! Who screams this loudly?)

Kiaara immediately lowered her head like a guilty child.

"Sorry, Bhabhi... par itni khushi ho rahi hai. Oh God!"

(Sorry, Bhabhi... but I'm just so happy. Oh God!)

The moment she finished speaking, everyone burst into laughter.

Even Nayra...

For the first time in many days...She laughed without forcing herself.

As the night grew darker, one by one, every member of the Raichand family retired to their rooms. The once lively mansion slowly fell silent.Only Nayra remained downstairs. She paced back and forth across the living room, glancing at the main door every few seconds. Her fingers tightened around her phone as she checked the time again. She had called Vivan countless times throughout the evening.

Every call had gone unanswered.

With every passing minute, her anxiety only grew stronger.Finally...The clock struck 11:00 p.m.Just then, the main door opened.Vivan stepped inside. The moment Nayra saw him, she hurried toward him without thinking.Stopping right in front of him, she gently held his chin, making him look at her.Her eyes were filled with nothing but worry.

"Vivan, kahan the aap? Itna late kyun ho gaya aapko aane mein?"

(Vivan, where were you? Why are you so late?)

She asked breathlessly.

Vivan remained silent for a moment.

His tired eyes met hers before he slowly reached up and held her hand.In a quiet, exhausted voice, he said,

"Thak gaya hoon... bhookh lagi hai mujhe."

(I'm tired... and I'm hungry.)

That was all he said.

But those few words were enough to make Nayra's heart ache.

Only then did she realize...

He hadn't eaten anything since morning.

She felt a wave of guilt wash over her.

Without asking another question, she nodded quickly.

"Ek minute..."

(Just a minute...)

Leaving his hand, she hurried toward the kitchen almost at a run, determined to prepare something for him as quickly as possible.Behind her, Vivan quietly watched her disappear into the kitchen. For the first time that entire day...A faint smile appeared on his tired face.

Ten minutes later, Nayra returned carrying two plates of dinner. She carefully placed them on the table before looking toward the washroom.

A moment later, Vivan walked out wearing a loose T-shirt and lower. His wet hair dripped slightly as he quietly pulled out a chair and sat down.

Without saying a word, he picked up the spoon and was about to eat when a sharp pain shot through his arm.

"Ahh..."

A painful groan escaped his lips.

Nayra immediately looked up in panic.

"Vivan! Kya hua? What happened?" (Vivan! What happened?)

Vivan quickly shook his head.

"Nothing... bas minor injury hai." (Nothing... it's just a minor injury.)

Ignoring the pain, he tried to continue eating.

Before he could lift another bite, Nayra gently held his wrist.

"Rukiye... main khilaati hoon aapko." (Wait... I'll feed you.)

This time, Vivan didn't argue.

He simply nodded.Silently, Nayra began feeding him one bite after another while Vivan quietly watched her. Neither of them spoke, yet the silence between them felt softer than before.

After making sure he had finished his meal, Nayra finally ate her own dinner.

Later, they lay down on the bed.Vivan turned to one side, facing away from her.

As Nayra adjusted the blanket over herself, something caught her attention.

For the first time in years...

Vivan was sleeping wearing a T-shirt.

She froze.

The memory of their first night after marriage flashed before her eyes. That night too, he had been wearing a shirt.

Unable to understand why, she had innocently asked him,

"Aap shirt pehen ke kyun so rahe ho?" (Why are you sleeping wearing a shirt?)

Instead of answering gently, he had replied coldly,

"Come on, Mrs. Vivan Raichand... you stayed many nights with so many people without..."

He had stopped himself before completing the sentence. But those unfinished words had shattered her heart completely. The memory disappeared as the sound of a bottle falling brought her back to reality.

She looked toward Vivan.

He had accidentally knocked over a medicine bottle while reaching for a glass of water.

"Sorry," he muttered absentmindedly.

Nayra slowly sat up.

"Vivan... kuch hua hai?" (Vivan... is something wrong?)

He shook his head.

"N

ahi." (No.)

She frowned.

"Nahi... kuch toh hua hai. Aap itna strange behave kyun kar rahe ho?" (No... something is definitely wrong. Why are you behaving so strangely?)

She moved closer to him.

Her voice became softer.

"I'm sorry, Vivan... maine aapko phir hurt kiya na..." (I'm sorry, Vivan... I hurt you again, didn't I?)

Before she could finish...

Vivan suddenly wrapped his arms tightly around her.

His grip trembled.

His entire body shook.

Then...

He broke.

I'm sorry, Nayra..." he whispered brokenly. "Maine tumhare saath bahut galat kiya. Itne saal tumse nafrat karta raha... maine tumhe force kiya iss rishte mein bandhe rehne ke liye. Main kuch bhi nahi dekh paaya. Reality mere saamne thi... aur main bas tumse nafrat karta raha..." (I'm sorry, Nayra. I treated you so badly. For years I hated you... I forced you to stay in this relationship. The truth was right in front of me, but I couldn't see it. I kept hating you all these years.)

His voice cracked.

Nayra slowly hugged him back, gently rubbing his back to calm him.

She didn't understand why he was apologizing. Then he whispered something that made her blood run cold.

"Main... Layla ke paas gaya tha." (I went to Layla.)

The moment she heard that name...

Nayra instantly pulled away from him.

Fear covered her face.

"Aap... unke paas kyun gaye the?" (Why did you go to her?)

Vivan gently held her chin.

His eyes never left hers.

"Kyuki mujhme aur intezaar karne ki himmat nahi thi. Main jaanna chahta tha ki tum mujhe chhod kar kyun chali gayi." (Because I couldn't keep waiting anymore. I wanted to know why you left me.)

His voice was calm.

Filled with pain.

"Mujhe nahi pata tha... woh aurat tumhari maโ€”" (I didn't know... that woman was your moโ€”)

"Vivan, please!" Nayra cut him off immediately.

Her eyes burned with tears.

"Woh meri kuch bhi nahi hai." (She is nothing to me.)

Silence filled the room.

Finally, Vivan asked the question that had been haunting him.

"Phir pehle sach kyun nahi bataya, Nayra?" (Then why didn't you tell me the truth before?)

Nayra laughed bitterly.

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Kya batati main aapko?" (What was I supposed to tell you?)

"Ki main us aurat ki beti hoon jise log nafrat ki nazar se dekhte hain?" (That I'm the daughter of a woman whom society looks at with disgust?)

Her voice trembled.

"Kya batati ki main kaun hoon? Jise uski apni maa se kabhi pyaar tak nahi mila." (What could I tell you? That even my own mother never loved me?)

She wiped her tears before continuing.

"You know... sirf do logon ne mujhe apna maana tha. Rajiv Uncle... aur Kirti Di. Unhone mujhe hamesha apni beti ki tarah pyaar diya."

A painful smile appeared on her lips.

"Lekin Radhika Aunty... unhone mujhe kabhi accept nahi kiya. Rajiv Uncle ke jaane ke baad meri duniya sirf Kirti Di thi... aur phir aap aaye."

She looked straight into his eyes.

"Main aapse pyaar kar baithi, Vivan." (I fell in love with you, Vivan.)

"Lekin har din ek darr badhta gaya... agar aapko mera sach pata chal gaya toh? Agar aap bhi mujhse nafrat karne lage toh?"

She closed her eyes.

"Isliye maine sab kuch chhupa diya. Apne baare mein... apne past ke baare mein... sab kuch."

Her voice broke completely.

"Aur jab Dadi shaadi ki baat lekar aayi... Radhika Aunty ne unhe sab bata diya. Mujhe laga sab khatam ho jayega. Kaun shaadi karta ek aisi ladki se jise log 'kothe wali ki beti' kehte hain?"

She inhaled shakily.

"Us din jab main ghar se nikli... main poora din roti rahi. Aur jab meri aankh khuli..."

She looked down at her trembling hands.

"...main ek gaadi ke andar band thi."

Tears streamed endlessly down her face.

"Vivan... unhone mujhe majboor kar diya. Agar main wahan se bhaagne ki koshish karti... toh woh aapko aur Kirti Di ko nuksaan pahunchate."

She cried uncontrollably.

"Isliye maine apni kismat maan li."

Her breathing became uneven.

Slowly, she stretched out both her hands toward him.

Old scars...

Fresh scars...

Countless cuts.

"Aap poochte the na... ye nishaan kaise aaye?" (You always asked me where these scars came from.)

A heartbreaking smile appeared on her lips.

"Jab bhi koi aadmi mere paas aata tha... main khud ko chaku se chot pahucha leti thi." (Whenever any man came near me... I would cut myself with a knife.)

Vivan's eyes widened.

"Logon ko lagta tha main pagal hoon. Dheere dheere woh mere paas aana hi chhod gaye. Woh mera mazaak udaate the... lekin mujhe koi farq nahi padta tha."

She looked straight into his eyes.

Her voice was barely above a whisper.

"Kyuki main nahi chahti thi... ki koi mujhe chhuye."

A single tear rolled down her cheek.

"Aapke siwa." (Except you.)

She slowly held his hand against her heart.

"Main hamesha se paak thi, Vivan." (I have always been pure, Vivan.)

"Aaj tak maine kisi aur ko khud ko chhoone nahi diya." (Till today, I never allowed anyone else to touch me.)

Every single word she uttered shattered him. He was suddenly flooded with memories of how he used to taunt her, and how he would kiss her while brushing off her discomfort, convincing himself she was fine with itโ€”even when he knew, deep down, that what he was doing was wrong.

Now, her words echoed relentlessly in his mind: "You never made me happy in bed, but they will. I am happy there, Vivan."

He painfully recalled the boundaries of their intimacyโ€ฆ.

Whenever Vivan drew close to her, it was only ever to kiss her or leave a deliberate hickey on her neckโ€”a performative mark to show his family how "deeply" he loved her. It worked, too. The girls would tease Nayra, calling them the ultimate 'IT couple.' But it was all a facade to maintain the illusion of a perfect marriage. No one knew that they had actually killed their love months ago.He vividly remembered a moment when he was kissing her, and Nayra had made a bold move, reaching for the buttons of his shirt. Vivan had stopped her cold. "Don't even think about it, Nayra. We are never doing anything like that. This is just about a kiss, nothing more. I will never be physical with youโ€”not in this lifetime."

The memories flooded his vision, a sharp and suffocating reel of how he had tortured her, how he had hurt her, and how he had ultimately brought them to this very breaking point.

Without another word, Vivan pulled her into his arms.

His embrace was trembling.

It wasn't the hug of a man seeking comfort.

It was the hug of a man drowning in guilt.

He buried his face against her shoulder, his grip tightening as if he was afraid she would disappear again.

His voice cracked.

"I'm so sorry, Nayra... for everything I've done to you."

Tears rolled down his face freely.

"Maine tumhe samajhne ki jagah tumhe hi dard diya. Tumhari baat sunne ke bajaye tum par shaq kiya. Main har baar galat tha... aur tum har baar akeli ladti rahi."

(Instead of understanding you, I only gave you pain. Instead of listening to you, I doubted you. I was wrong every single time... and you kept fighting alone.)

He closed his eyes tightly.

"Main waqt ko wapas toh nahi laa sakta..."

(I can't turn back time...)

His voice broke again.

"Lekin main vaada karta hoon... aaj ke baad tumhari zindagi mein jitne aansu aaye hain, unse kahin zyada muskurahat laane ki koshish karunga."

(But I promise... from today onward, I'll spend my life trying to give you far more smiles than the tears you've endured.)

He gently cupped her face.

His eyes were red, filled with regret.

"Please... mujhe ek mauka de do."

(Please... give me one chance.)

"Ek mauka sab kuch theek karne ka."

(One chance to make everything right.)

"Main vaada karta hoon, Nayra... main tumhare har zakhm ka dard mita toh nahi sakta, lekin har naye din tumhare saath khada rahunga."

(I promise, Nayra... I may never be able to erase your old wounds, but I'll stand beside you through every new day.)

"Bas... mujhe ek mauka de do."

(Just... give me one chance.)

His forehead rested gently against hers.

For the first time in years, Vivan wasn't asking for forgiveness because he deserved it.He was asking because he wanted to spend the rest of his

life earning it.
